Blank stare into the dark and ambient glow of the night
Tick tick tick
In this digital world the sound comes from imagination
Please sleep come and take me
Hold me and keep me in your arms
Tussle my hair and hum softly in my ear
Sleep sleep sleep
Unnerving awake in this deep dark night
Walls bounce back black
The void feels cramped and suffocating
My chest tightens at the frustration of my state
No noise
No sound
Silenced in the night
The darkness sucks it all away
There is nothing left of me as I lay staring at the faint clocks glow
Counting seconds, minutes, hours still
Please sleep find me, hold me, care for me like no other
I'm all yours
Begging for the peace of heavy eyelids
Dreamy smoothness abandons me once again
Like most other things
Slipped through fingers like water falling
Left so far behind, your last choice, your farthest companion
I'll just keep laying here, staring out.
