It echoes through the wires into the receiver of my phone,
I know you’re there
But not really
Your lips drip with insufferable silence as my eyes with meaningless tears
What’s the point?
Every second pulls you farther from me
Every day another part of my heart goes numb
My head throbs, full of ‘what-ifs’ and insecurities
WHY WON’T YOU TALK TO ME?!
…even if you did the deadness of your voice would only confirm my migraines
My lungs struggle for air, my heart seizes up
You mumble, “Are you okay?”
(I know you don’t truly care)
How can anything be right in a universe where I lack you?
Or where you won’t bother to fucking call me?
Even the word ‘love’ has become as hollow as my soul,
As the silence that deafens us to all reality
“…yeah I’m fine…”
(you know I don’t truly care)
