Walking through stalled
traffic and unseeing bodies
to and from work,
or school,
or just down to that dirty
box of a bodega on the
corner by the boarded up
storefront where I used to
buy girlie mags and oddball
comics that no one else
ever seemed to carry, I
never notice how much the
shoreline has developed
around me.
