Come to me
my two edged sword;
let me throw my head back
and take you in.
I can't swallow your absence
though you were rarely present.
You'd think I would
hold my hands up,
cry uncle,
beg to be let go.
But no.
I sit here longing
to feel your sharp twist
take a spin through my heart.
You are something imaginable
but intangible
and that slices my emotions raw.
Do your damage,
do it slowly,
as I open my mouth.
I know no other way
than to surrender
amiss this pain.
