Thanks for your interest in this, my first posting for Lit. Thanks also to those who pushed me to do this based on their confidence in me when I had none. You know who you are & I owe you. Enjoy!

Introduce me to . . . yourself.
I want to know all the intricate
Workings I know are
Going on inside your heart, your
Soul, and behind your eyes.

Introduce me to . . . the world.
The child inside me wants to
Understand everything I may have
Missed, but the adult I am
Is afraid of what I may find.

Introduce me to . . . life.
I want to experience new things
And learn new ways that may
Not be so new to anyone other than
The inexperienced.

Introduce me to . . . myself.
It’s slowly beginning to dawn on me
That there is so much within
My head, my heart, and my soul that
I haven’t fully investigated.

Introduce me to . . . the past.
There’s so much of it that you
Lived through and experienced
That I want to understand what happened then
To create the you I’ve come to know.

Introduce me to . . . the present.
You seem to be so much more
Aware of what’s hiding in plain sight
In the world around me
And the darker recesses within me.

Introduce me to . . . the future.
I want to be independent and
Do my own thing, but I’m
Not sure what that is or even
If I want to do it alone.
