You cast shadows against my scarlet velvet
dreams with the distinct precision of an adept but,
fascinated new lover.
I run to catch each one,
and our eyes converge in that place
where passions collide, yet softly,
so softly.
The place where you whisper with your soul,
what you’d whisper in my ear,
if I dare draw near enough.
And I stand,
Entranced.
Still with courage enough
To cast my own shadows, though excruciatingly evident
How eager I am for you to devour them,
And you do.
