Drifting
Unfamiliar familiar path
Did a word escape me
Not torn nor noticed made in gest
Haunted by no shadow I can see

Pretty birds fill the air
Their song so sweet
But sing as they might
Can't keep in my greed
They were meant for me

Trapped with the key
Chosen silence in a crowd
Destiny need not find me
Denying having seen her
I'll push that bitch away

Puzzled by all this
Voices reach me through the walls
Remembrance of my gifts
And time rushing squandered
Apathy sodden phoenix again
