Darkness surrounded me and my life continues to spin without direction.
I reach for you and find you.
Your arms tightly around me but it feels like miles away.
Your breath upon my cheek,
Your grip to the back of my neck,
The delicate whisper of love in my ear.
And yet it feels like goodbye.

Tears trailing unhindered,
Sobs lost in your shoulder.
But you feel so very far away.
It feels like goodbye.

“Come rescue me” I plead
“I have you” says he.
But you feel so very far away.
It feels like goodbye.

Your touch memorizing what I once was,
Memories of love whispered,
Tears of parting ways…
It feels like goodbye.
