It’s hard to die
When the sun is shining
And birds chirp so prettily
In your ears.
It’s hard to die
When your little boy
Smiles that sweet smile,
Your bigger boy tells you
He loves you
And your daughter laughs
With so much joy
That it fills your heart
To overflowing.
It’s hard to die
When your husband
Loves you more than life
As do so many others,
When a rose of pink
Smells so lovely
And a lady bug
Brings such grand luck.
It’s hard to die
When the world is spinning,
The breeze is blowing,
The grass is growing,
The leaves are falling,
The ocean’s waving.
It’s hard to die
When you have so much
To live for.
