It's Kinda Funny How Things Change
or Perhaps Were Meant To Be

When I was a little girl
I got baby blue girly things.
I guess I really didn't mind
until Sissy was born and
she got everything pink.
And when I was old enough
to realize that blue was for boys
and pink was for girls;
I was one pissed off and
highly offended 5 year old.
I never got pink even though
I asked for it.
So I pretended blue was my
favorite color and I stood by
it so fiercely, you'd have thought
it really was my favorite color.
But secretly, I hated blue and
really wanted pink.

And it's kinda funny how things change
or perhaps were meant to be..

Because now, blue really is the best color.
Remember Light Bright...the blue color?
That's the best blue.
It's the blue
landing strips on a magical night.
It's the blue of a gaze that holds me tight.
It's the way that I feel in a slanted blue light.
That's the very best blue.
But so is the powdery blue on my living room walls
that matches the blue when you walk down the hall.
It's the backyard sky in spring, summer, or fall.
Yes, that one is the very best too.
And 30 years later, I really do think
that I never really did like the color pink
for I was always on the brink
of being true to blue.

a lot about blue....

kinda long but I like it. It touches base with me, except

as a boy I wore blue and my favorite is pink. You

know the pink in a sunset or the pink in a neon sign.
