It’s like a movie
The heroine has a very exciting life
Drama, action, love, adventure
She is around my age, 20-ish
I feel a bit envious
Why can my life not be like that?
But then I think: what about before the movie was filmed
This is only one part of her life
Life must’ve been very boring, if not, it would have been a movie
Kind of like how my life is boring
Then I realize this is just an episode
My episode will come

I will not bore you with stories from the pleasant comforts of the womb,
Or tales of a childhood of fancy and love.
I will certainly begin, indeed, at the real beginning:
The beginning of the film which is my life, which I once commented to a friend, while poring over volumes, struggling to write down the words.
For, dear reader, what is a faerie tale, but a series of adventurous situations in a strange moment in time and place?
A film is but a recording of a stage of excitement in one’s rather uneventful childhood and eventual descent into adulthood disillusionment

Oh, if I failed to mention earlier, I might suddenly slip into accents: first British, due to my delusions of grandeur, of tea parties, and royal tradition; then Yiddish, then Russian, which I am trying to learn, my name, by the way, after one week of lessons, is pronounced Aleksei.

To avoid making this poem much too convoluted,
I will “cut to the chase”,
As the young people say nowadays.
I am honestly and quite proudly, if I may say, slightly ahead, or even behind, my time, and am also Aquarian, and a fire tiger one at that.

I am only a girl, not I woman I add, it reminds me of marriage and motherhood,
Much to much responsibility for a child of my age.
Although I must admit, I thought of death and fear as a child in my bed, as the plush doll stared at me with the plastic eyes, and the charming vampire grinned in the night.
Quite foolish, these thoughts seem to me know, but as a child, well, the past is past, and was not meant to be dwelt on.

You know if you think about it, everything is relative, or subjective if you prefer,
The future is merely one second ahead of the present,
The past only one second before,
Live for the present, for it is life itself,
But do not believe in “living fast, dying young, and leaving a beautiful corpse”
Those who have gone before us are, either reckless, unfortunates, heroics, or forgotten,
But I am certain we shall never forget.

One person may have the power, but it is ultimately you who has the last word.
“Do not let your hearts be troubled, trust in God, trust also in Me”.
Trust in love, in faith; trust what is good and pure,
You will be forgiven, if you only repent, Your God, or Angel, or Higher Power, or you yourself will guide yourself to the way.
Close your eyes, forget the world and it’s troubles.
Forget money, and power, and beauty, and fame.
There is only beauty,
There is only love,
There is only me,
There is only you.
There is only what you believe in.
Hold fast, stay true, and always believe.
