Born of Torvaldsland am I,
Land of Fjords, Mountains, and deep blue sky,
Where mighty Norsemen rule the land.
I left that home long ago to join a mercenary band
I swore the oaths of the warrior caste
And fought for gold, while it did last.
I saw the east, and the south and west,
But always thought my homeland best.
I fought in the arena of mighty Ar,
Then journeyed west to the city Port Kar
Companions, they have come and gone
I took such slaves as I came upon
My values I have learned are strict
and upon stone they do be writ
To them and them alone I answer
I'll be no others well trained dancer
Hard to live with it seems I be
But I am always true, to me
so if some day by chance we meet
be not afraid to freely greet
A monster is not who I am
Nor legend, I be just a Man
To those who know me I wish thee well
and those who hate me, well, go to hell
