Jesus, Mary and Joseph

byGuiltyPleasure©

"Sh! not so loud:
he’ll hear you," Mary said
when Joseph spoke
of the boy she’d birthed
as a miracle child.
His slightly skeptical tone
got her goat, she knew
her boy was destined
for greater things,
changing lives for the better
not wood into mundane goods.
He would sell love
and understanding,
brotherhood and the gospel
even as he starved and died
for his pains.
She put those thoughts away
and hugged her little boy.
