not clutching at straw salvation,
a song can make me smell
lilac buds,jean nate,and your excitement.
all the beauty I have seen since,
whether real or intangible,
fails to conquer
you at 16 in a white wide brimmed hat,
framed by sunset
and apple blossoms.
