A raindrop hit the dry cracked earth
and found it had no purchase
as did the seed blown on the dry wind to land
just a few feet away.
lightning threw its flame upon the forest
the forest alongside the river
and ran out of purpose.
some words reached me saying
"Every thing has a purpose."
Not true. Turning back,
withering away, dying off.
Maybe that's the point...
