What use reproaches? Down the long, long years
the light's not changed in colour, and the road
lies just as wide and tempting as when first
you ventured out - it's you that's lost your way
and settled down along the silent stretch
you took for life's real purpose. In the lane
the seasons show time's passing - did you think
it would be otherwise? Your eyes grew older,
tired with the glare of high noon's promise,
never kept - but then, there was no time
or else you couldn't catch the hours blown by,
and none has other than himself in mind...
What use reproaches? there's no one to blame;
the air's cold anyway, the night is bleak
and often in the daytime rain prevails.

Moving words!

We do tend to stay in our comfort zone while life passes us by.

I liked this.
