Kali

A lover comes unbidden unto a satin bed.
He is sadly mistaken,
assuming in his naiveté
that his love will join him.
She has taken her vows unto herself
that none shall ever possess her.
She teases him and drives him mad with passion.
She knows her limits, and she knows his.
He knows of neither.
He knows he loves,
and loves with all the passion his heart and soul and body can muster.
The girl is ruthless.
Teasing and torturing.
She knows she has power over this boy.
She knows but with one word from her soft lips,
Death would come to claim the boy.
She knows that Death would be invited by the boy’s own hand if she were to wish it.
He knows not how to say no to her.
He has no wish to have the knowledge.
She will have what she wants.
He will gratefully do her bidding.
He would kill and be killed only for her.
She knows all this.
This is what she wants.
For she is the Goddess…
of Death.
