Senna Jawaover 19 years agoAuthorI read the two previous comments and felt depressed. Finally I've decided to respond.
Keiko Imaoka, the sun of haiku, died about two and a half years ago, on April 5, 2002. She was the last in the line of the Great Masters: Basho, Buson, Issa, Shiki, Imaoka.
She was equally amazing in the art of tanka.
I didn't say it earlier, but also my "copernicus passanger" poem, posted here on Literotica, was for Keiko. And do not think that it was her tragic, premature death that has shaken me into thinking so highly about her poetry and art (I've written poems about her when Keiko was alive too). Her poetry made on me tremendous impression the day I have encountered it, back in the relatively early days of the shiki internet forum (no, I've never met her in person, not even via a phone line).
Keiko spent years, artistically crucial to her poetry, in Arizona. That Arizona desert was very important, very special to her.

WickedEveover 19 years agoI did have to do a quick search. I remember reading about her before. I believe you may have mentioned her once. Yes, I'm sure it was you.
As for the poem, a nice haiku tribute.
