she hunts in castles made of darkness
and gossamer, of madness
blending in with the shifting
patterns that ebb and flow with
the light that drives fast down her streets
and splashes through the windows of
all her haunts

she glides like water on window panes
each droplet of her being racing with the
one beside it...wanting to reach the bottom,
wanting to be the first to make the creature
whole.  each hit like a tear drop making
ripples in the original design, changing it.

she watches with eyes made of coal
that can light up a room or heat up a
cold heart.  watching and soaking in
all that crosses her path, waiting for
the right one, the perfect prey to burrow
her glance into

she has fingertips like icicles
that will melt into whomever she
touches.  their blood will chill and they
will drown in the smooth, wet freeze of
her caress.  like an iced venom it will
pause their very life, their breaths caught
in their throat their thoughts stopped on their
tongues and only her kiss, her kiss the antidote.

she has a kiss that can take lives or give them
back.  lips that search for the very core of a thing
her tongue delving deep inside a person
tickling the worm of their soul.  will she share
herself with you?  only if your taste awakens her,
only if your soul knocks down the walls of her
shadow kingdom.  until then she will melt
and form in the shadows and slink away when
the moon sets and the blue morning signals
for her retreat.
