at first it was pinpricks
needles, jabbing into my skin
probing, testing
just an annoyance.
you drove them deeper
twisted them
barbed them
drank in my blood
little pains, tiny pains
pinpricks, going deeper
now you've drawn your knife
and thrust it into me
you cut out half my heart
hold it in your hand
feel the futile pulsing
taste the spreading blood
and bathe in my tears.
