Full Title: Things I Really Needed to Know That I Learned After Kindergarten

everybody doesn't think like you

don't whine
don't look for reasons to give up

don't criticize unless you can do it better
if you can do it better, do it

you will lose people you love
but you have to keep on going

you will experience disappointment
you won't die of disappointment

sometimes you have to give up immediate pleasures
so that you can be happy later

you have to pay for what you want

any decision is better than no decision

regret is corrosive and pointless
envy is corrosive and usually misguided

being an adult isn't easier or more fun than being a child
but adults shouldn't think kids have it easy

if someone's sad all the time
there's something wrong with them
if someone's happy all the time
there's something wrong with them

sex should come from love
love should come from friendship
friendship comes from respect

if you have children, your life will change forever
but nobody can tell you exactly how

with control comes responsibility

your hear more bad news because it tends to be more interesting than good news
don't be fooled into thinking everything is bad

diplomacy is a difficult but valuable art
some people are deficient of it, some are inconsiderate
some people just want to indulge their cruelty

being nice is not the same thing as being weak

most people are good
some are bad
stay away from bad people

defend yourself only when you must

expect the best from yourself
ask the best from others
everybody makes mistakes
forgive

toys are for children
people mean more than things

guns and tanks and warships are interesting
war is bad

be proud and confident
hide your pride
show your confidence

laugh with yourself

if you anticipate a brighter future
you'll often be wrong
but happier than those who dread

Peruse and Ponder

"Life is life" truisms

Many things worth considerating.

perhaps not all true,

or at least easily accepted.

This reads more like an email to forward to friends than a typical Literotica poem.

edit:

"your hear" = "you hear"
