We say our goodnights over the phone
I go to my bed unaccompanied
her voice remains though
an auditory embrace from her
the kind of embraces we've come to share nightly
my rest comes not
my will to let her go tonite, flees from my grasp
her spirit floods my being
despite our geographical distance
our souls are neighboring stars
geography matters little to her or I
life is too brief
to miss our chance.

My body hungers for her body
I can't lie still
to think of her bare warmth at my side
the flesh of her arms surrounding me
the friction of our skin
its all too real as my lust
prowls the night
like a mad beast
teeth bared
growling her name.

How natural it will come to us
to lay together
when we reach that point in our journey
just as it would be this night
crawling into bed
her hand in the embrace of mine
as I would never leave my love's palm
to the aloneness of the air
to the quiet despair of our respective rooms
that which her and I have settled for again
this night
she needs my touch and I hers
I would never deprive her of such basic love
her needs are mine
mine are hers
I am beyond happy
to be the one
to fulfill that most basic of needs
to be her man.

If she were here
were we laying together at this moment
we would be spooning
or would she be resting her head against my chest
the bounty of her dark hair brushing across
my cheek?
would we continue talking till we each drifted
off to our dream lands-
like we do now
or would we just lay there, listening to our
gentle breaths
our bare flesh commingled?

I think of the future
the road that lies ahead
I reach out to her in the night
but she comes
not yet...

Amazing

Amazing prose! Your love for this woman came out...no it screamed out through your words....

Just beautiful!

Wonderful poem...the words so powerful and capture the feelings I've also experienced in our realms. More! More!

To think of her,

and write of her;

you are so lucky to have

a Krystal that so inspires.

Welcome to Lit....

OK

A wonderful poem to give a friend-- inspired and sincere. For public consumption, however, it stays on well-trod ground.

I agree, Krystal is a lucky woman!
