Moths kamikaze the balcony light
Searching for a lunar sea
While I dream about lace lavender
You once had worn for me

You paused shy by the window
Lit by a baying moon
And curtains licked lace lavender
That summer night in June

Now prayers are said and doors are closed
And old men sadly grin
As they recall lace lavender
And love that might have been
