lapis lazuli, ground fine as life

in these problematic hours
where our judgment wanes

the way the yellow, gibbous moon
runs, middle-aged, to fat

my predatory cock
slips far away from its lair

hoping, hopeful, to bite, to spit
some lulled and wet and passive

prey, for it has not fed even lightly
all this leaden month and day

phenomenal work

You have a careful, intelligent and detailed voice. I like most of your work, but this one caught my eye particularly. Well done.

Lovely images

Who can resist a gibbous, middle-aged moon? You create a wonderful sense of a twilight state, somewhere I guess between desire and ennui, and make it sound so attractive. :-)
