Click hereCall me Nothing;
Yearning yet unobtrusive
I'd bide my time in silence if I could.
Little Tagalong;
Peeking around corners
just praying you don't shoo me away.
Little Woebegone;
Creeping at the borders
just praying you would notice me for once.
Call me Lemming;
For I would follow you
to the very end of the universe.
I'd even jump off the edge if you asked me to.
At first read, I thought this was rather simple, but I was wrong. How introspective and insightful. I felt it, and I like it. Keep it up
Sweet and openly Romantic. I for one like your flirting with the nonsense. I should let you know (why should I assume that you don't? no reason. I just feel like saying it.) The nonsense partial or full was (still is? I am not sure) a distinguished branch at least in the British tradition. No, can't remember names right now. I am, not saying that this poem is a full blown nonsense (in a good way) but as I said I believe that it flirts with it: in and out. The shifting of the identities the absurdity of the imagined situations - almost nonsense Delicious!
This poem, Lemming, reminds me of my dog following me from room to room, wherever I go, he is there like a shadow.
I liked this poem because I could "feel" it. Nice.
