I have a lesson I’d like to share,
Please come listen if you should dare.

You see a man I loved with all my heart and soul
Tried to come back into my life, on the premise of our hearts to console.

He played his games with all his might, any thing he could do to make it seem right
Ahh but I’d been down this road before, and it was quite ugly so I chose to close the door.

This time though I love him and I know it’s not right,
I thought I could stay on the outskirts just enough, not holding on with my heart to tight.

But I learned I was wrong and mistaken at that,
The heart cannot listen when love is the price.

So now I know, it’s in my face, I have to run and get out of this place.
This place to familiar filled with doubt and fear, no I cannot do this in my head I hear.

I’m sorry my love I love you too much
To enable the sickness you’ve come to trust.

Please I know you’re angry but maybe one day you’ll see
I did this because I love both you and me!!!!
