In my mind I am lost, set adrift by loves lost
In this sea of agony I am tossed.
One whom I thought was mine to be
is no longer here for me to see.
What I thought were words so true
were just that, words from you.
You told me that you loved me so
but you lied and I could not know.
If you loved me then why
did you let this love go by.
In my mind it has passed me
that someone keeps you from me.
Should this be so, I keep my distance
for I know you, you resist.
For if what words you spoke
be they truth, we would be.
but my heart you broke.
