Don’t save me now, please don’t save me now. I have worked for this for much too long. You slide in beside me and breathe. I can’t stand the calm you give. Move away, leave me be. Let me self destruct, let it be. What is meant to happen will surely? Let me feel a pain so free it’s fine. I have inflicted indulgence on myself from the start. I need the time to stop and let me stop. Just give it time and this too shall pass. I have worked for this for much too long. I must leave now, I must be gone. I dream of escape, of loss and fire. I see all this and only want more. Let me self destruct, let it be. I can only do what is in me already. I crave the blank that comes at the end. Let me pull that blanket of night up over my head. This way it will be no surprise. I will control my future. Who else can say this much? Don’t save me now, please don’t save me now.
