Jack Green
Let the rain put me to sleep
Darkness be my lullaby
And the thunder bring my dreams
All the things that I have seen
Have faded into the past
However, I still hear the screams
In my heart…. An open wound…in my heart
In my heart…an open wound…in my heart
Do you hear my voice still calling?
Ringing from the distance
When you shut your eyes at night
Your name was cut into my arms
Your face burned in my heart
Even though it ‘s far from sight
In my heart…. An open wound…in my heart
In my heart…an open wound…in my heart
Do you look at your scars the way I look at mine?
Do you feel the way I do?
The ones on my arms can fade away
On my chest, they cut right through
Do you hear my voice still calling?
Ringing from the chasm in my mind
In my heart…. An open wound…in my heart
In my heart…an open wound…in my heart
You write amazing poems. The words you use flow together and inspire and frustrate me at the same time. Inspire because of your extraordinary ability to put words together to make the poem come alive and frustrate because I want to capture your words in a picture but I never will be able to.
Another Beauty,
that was lovely
writing, a great read!
Thanks.
