You smile when you talk
White and blinding
Disarmingly
A trust-worthy smile
But I’ve learned to see your liar’s eyes
Your words spin stories
Colorful pictures in air
A soothing, convincing tone
Coaxing my belief
But I’ve learned to see your liar’s eyes
Your hands dance
Elaborating, gesticulating,
Distracting
From your liar’s eyes
When I am with you
I’ve learned to focus
Directly into your liars eyes
So that I can see the truth.
