Light

Solemn sweeping, whispering wind,
Blow away secrets kept, the sorrow that once was,
And all that could have been.
Leave but nothing, for my life was no more
Than that of a lone sparrow,
On a mission to nowhere.
Take my pain, my sadist pain,
The lacerations of back stabbing liars’
silver tongued blades.
Carry away, to the furthest cracks
And endless corners
My life.
My inanimate life of dark horrors
And dark workings.
Bring to it a flame, a devouring flame;
To end its mourning ways
In the only light that it should be exposed to.
Only then shall this cursed soul be free-
Free to live and love
In God’s heavenly hall, of sequin stars.
And everlasting shall I stay
Not a care for my secrets kept
Or what once was
Or what could have been a life
Of sweet, undying light-
Not the vain, cruel life that was mine.
