a builder of walls, an engineer of defense, mistress of evasion
hiding deep within this heart of stone built solely for protection
it matters not now how or why, the cause lacks all concern
my heart could simply not survive another scalding burn
then one fine day lightning struck and caused this wall to crack
a flash of light teased my heart and i began my journey back
the dawning of my soul that day was slow and i fought hard at first
but lightning waits for no one and it began to quench my thirst
the crack grew larger and the bricks they fell one by one until
lightning took it's human form and for a moment time stood still
a man so tall, so proud, so strong, and handsome to a fault
and in his hand a key he held determined to unlock my vault
and as he reached out for my heart, upon the dust a book did fall
and silver pages turned so fast, that tumbled down did my wall
i gazed into his eyes so bright, and my battered soul cried out for more
he reached for me, held me tight, and with that key unlocked my door
