there are embers
beneath the wet
still warm from
all night friction
in the morning
we yawn unlike the sun
it is fast
we are slugs
laying in shade
we finger the sky
it's orbs and wings
it's white fluff
lunch at noon past
long shadows at rising
drifting along bark
of a tree's haughty opinion
