Time traveling on borrowed
time fall behind fall leaves to summer
or someone.
Let me be almost-lover
loveless moments
always easier
leaves exit – there's your sign.
Shaping retro jackets
for records, wax lines, graves
grave notes hollow like loveless moments
on summer days before
trees lose their leaves to rain or wind
or cold hearts in winter.
To dream in life-sized patterns
you owe me nothing: you've overpaid
change in memories to keep
your pockets warm with linted dreams
and dulled pennies.
I will run seaside for shivers and wet
sand to hold and harden, to keep with me
like your smile.
My mind, a house without stars and honey.
