Lisa told me to go away
Just to go some place faraway
She didn’t tell me why
Nor did she say goodbye

Five years passed and I returned
To find her heart had been broken
She wept every single night
Telling me of her lover’s fight

Lisa told me to never love a boy
For they are very much sly and coy
I didn’t kept it close at heart
For I knew it was Josh who broke her heart

To me Josh was most kind
With intelligence and looks so very fine
Lisa had a very bad temper
For as long as I could possibly remember

I met Josh almost everyday
He only stayed a few doors away
We often walk and chat
About Lisa, we never talked about that

As time passed us by
To Lisa I had to lie
For now Josh and I were a couple
And with Lisa we did not want any trouble

The happiest moment in my life
Was when Josh asked me to be his wife
There and then I told him, “Yes!”
Our love was then put to the test

That night I told Lisa the news
She instantly blew her fuse
Called me names and pulled my hair
Told me that to her life was unfair

Lisa told me to say no
Or far away I must go
Lisa told me what I must not do
It would mean to my heart I would be untrue
I packed my bags and left the rest
Quickly I went before she could protest
That very night I left the house
To be as one with my future spouse

In the early dawn there came a knock
The news I received was to shatter and shock
For so it seems Lisa had died
A noose on her neck, tightly tied

I’m sorry Lisa I had been unfair
To you my sister I should have care
Lisa you told me to
Lisa told me what I did not do.
