There it is again,
the glassy stare
and soft smile.
I talk
but you don’t seem
to listen:
you nod your head
at my words,
but smile
when you shouldn’t,
like I speak
a foreign tongue.
And the look
in your eyes
scares me,
as if
you hunger
something.
You lean to me
and...
a kiss
    a deep,
passionate,
send the kids to bed
    kiss.
And suddenly... I forget
what I was saying.

Paying attention.

I enjoyed this but suggest 'passionate' be omitted. It doesn't seem relavent to the poem. One of the best two today.
