I have woken up alone:
I hated it.

I have slept alone:
I hated it.

I have drunk alone:
I hated it.

I have cried alone:
I hated it

I will die alone:
I hate it.

Hang tight, bud! The starkness of the poem really reflects the empty feel you must have had while writing it. I have had that too, and can relate.

little note: After sleeping (trying to sleep) 12 years with a snoring husband, and not even being able to pee or shower alone without two little boys crying for MOMMY MOMMY and following me around all day.... God I love them all and know I am lucky but.. I would be so happy to be alone, just for a little while. But that is different, I know. Just rambling, it is 4 am I should sleep-- good night and welcome!
