this habit lives heavy
hard to hit without hanging too
reason away your darkest hour
lose sense, lose true

listen, listen – help me
puckered pinkish purple scars
on soul’s landscape, desert waiting
rush through my arms

hope in bones, fire glistens
trampoline heart torn ‘tween leaps
gleefully upward soaring to fall
tumbled heart-heap
