How doth the lonely earthworm
That glides along the dirt
If we were to step on you
How much would you get hurt?
Oh the lonely earthworm,
With skin so sickly smooth
A grayish hue, in the dew
That settles in the morn
Little lonely earthworm
So tiny and rotund
He needs to know which way to go
To find the shining sun
Oh so lonely earthworm
You have no bones or teeth
You twist and warp and burrow
Into the ground beneath
Oh my lonely earthworm
So dark and dank and deaf
You have no eyes to see the skies
The sun, the moon, have left
Slither on, lonely earthworm
Slither on your way
Please just don’t forget me
Or the light of day
