Longing

My heart beats steady, my hands steadfast
Knowing you are mine when the day is passed
Though trembling inside, not with fear but need
A growing flame that only love can feed
The minutes turn slow, into hours long
The dawn gives way to noon then setting sun
My heart pounds hard inside my heaving chest
The moment is soon, I can no longer rest
I will rise to greet her with passion's kiss
Embracing my lover in the sweetest bliss
Laying aside all that comes between
That my eyes may feast on my midnight queen
Together now, we as one heart combine
Pledging I am yours, hearing you are mine
Desire mounting, swelling to it's peak
Sweet release our reward to seek
Plunge with me now deep into that sea
In breathless moments, there forever be.
