Kindness when kindness was needed,
A gentle heart that listened.
Compassion for my tears,
Strength in your arms.
Soft words to soothe my mind.
Growing tired you lost patience,
Words changed,
Feelings left.
Harshness where there was only gentility,
Words that hurt.
Arms that no longer held,
Pain took the place of strength.
Love too much for you to bear,
Out of time, out of space.
Loss of a love never possessed.
