is this in any way a special day
the cosmos expands, leading time astray
earth circling the sun in the usual way
our life continous without delay

why I could hardly keep my tears at bay
my memories are forming your portrait
heart breaking, thoughts racing, my life's forfait
for you consumed all that I gave away

seducing me was just a game to play
you were the hunter and I was the prey
my feelings abused by a lovebogey
giving me to you on a golden tray

from distance I listen to what you say
rotting ache is hurting my hearts decay
grief, pain, and sorrow the least price to pay
for a small flicker of hope as it may
