Lost

Her mind's so lost she doesn't know
what she thinks anymore
or what truth is
or what she wants
she's left in a pile of confusion
waving her white flag out the top

maybe she was the center
of the world for awhile
or maybe there's more than meets the eye
or more than more than meets the eye
or even more than that

she doesn't know
she's finding it easier to distance herself
from these once persistent thoughts
distance might help
future happen
or might just make losing happen
she's really not sure anymore

she can't know
she knows that now
it isn't the time or the place
she just wishes...she knew what she can't
but sees the futility in it all

she holds out hope
the future will come
and shine as bright as her dreams
but maybe future will be
the same as every day
has been

some things will change
she's sure of that
never going back again
but forward...
what lies ahead?
she doesn't know
maybe she never did.
