Entangled in a dangerous world
Choices difficult to reverse
Looking for an exit
But instead only finding more walls
Searching, yearning for a way out
Finding blockades and traps
Unable to grasp the extended hand
Fingers entwining but the quagmire too thick
Pulling desperately, clinging tenaciously
The beacon calling, but legs immobile
Screams echoing, falling on deaf ears
Save for the one who reaches out
Remaining solid, staying in place
A rock against the tides
Grip ever strengthening, arm ever straining
Trying to maintain the grasp
Endeavoring to pull more than the person
Looking deeply for the heart
Pounding quietly but calling loudly
Attempting to guide in a safe direction
Expressing a sanctuary of faith
A bastion of truth and solace
A spark of hope in the darkness
The beacon calling forth
Drawing ever closer
Patience will reward the heart
