Lost Chances

byChicklet©

There was something about the way she wore her hair
Her skin creamy white
Her complexion fair
She sat cross legged in the grass
Bent over a book
And I ached to ask
But fear swallowed me whole, that day
So instead I turned and just walked away
I feel I lost part of my soul
That fateful day
For I turned and left her
No words exchanged
And every moment since then I have to wonder
Could we have had sparks of lightening?
Crashes of thunder?
Was she the one girl meant for me?
Was the pair of us just meant to be?
If only I had asked that day
If only I had not walked away
Regret
Remorse
Am I incomplete?
The lesson there is not too sweet
Take each opportunity in your grasp
Live your whole life
It may be your last
Better to lose, over and over
Than every day to sit and wonder.
