Rain falls down on lulled city streets
Cascading from the rooftops, dripping like tears
Pouring rain, flowing like rivers into the grates
Mirror sidewalks interrupted by hurrying feet
Nary a car, few a soul out tonight
Just businessmen rushing home, running, panting
Wives at home, watching, waiting
Everyone scurrying like mice and rats
Everyone running somewhere, to some place
Black and white motion picture
In chilled night air, rain falling, people rushing
Save for two lovers lost in moments
Moments of romance in the rain
Hand in hand walking
Arm in arm dancing
The world rushes around them
But time is frozen
Stop at a street corner, join in a kiss
Many minutes of silence
Save for rain, pouring, flowing
Lights seen in rays cloaking them, soaking them
Breath in crystals, heavy from passion
Tight embrace, warmth in the night
The moon’s reflection on the street
Endless street, vanishing but ongoing
Lights extinguish, darker now, save for the streetlights
Hair wet with rain in strings from her face
Long hair, dark, beautiful
Fingers through it, combing, smoothing
Soaked to the skin, each curve visible
Caress the body, feel the soul
Now they run
Jump in puddles
To where they are going
Not a soul knows
Somewhere to make love in the rain
Under the night sky, as it pours so beautifully
Lost in moments, lost in time, lost
Taking time to loose themselves
Nothing could be better
