I stare into the silver coated window,
  and it stare back at me.
And in this endless moment
  I see deep into the black,
  searching for the long hidden light.
I fear it may have been put out,
  and I am lost.

In the same gust of bone chilling wind,
  that blew the last ashes of confidence from my hand;
All too easily may the dim light of my soul
  be blown out.
I can not now turn back;
  I am but Magellan on a starless night,
  and my hope grows thin.

I press on forward
  with no mind of direction.
Each step more difficult than the last,
  almost breaking beneath the weight of dejection.
But the true threat creeps and rises from behind,
  a looming cloud,
  poised to strike me with the power of Zeus.
And tears of desperation roll onto my cheeks;
  I have not the strength to wipe them away.
