TREASURES
Emptiness travels in strange places
Uneasy feelings with familiar faces
In the midst of a crowd you ache alone
Your smiles hide the coldness at home
Torn away heart left to bleed unending
Tug at your soul though friendships are mending
River of tears cried deep in the night
Leave frozen dreams when you shut out the light
Attentions, intentions, bedroom eyes
Look in you, through you, will the moment arise?
When love will take you in encompassing arms
Let loose the straps that keep you from harm
Run from dreams that you don't even know
The journey provides, but provisions are low
A morsel taken in curious haste
Quells the hunger but leaves no taste
Passion and desire rule within
Fear and heartbreak leave no way to get in
No answers abound for the wondrous sphynx
Bounded by beauty with mysterious links
A fortune to give the one who can find
The key to his heart, his soul, his mind
A treasure unequalled thru man and time
And I should know... he used to be mine...
