The cold of the night freezes me where I stand
The cold winter winds freeze the blood in my veins
My heart aches from the pain and the cold
My mind races trying to escape from this world
Trying to escape from the void and the pain

I search the world for a trace of warmth
Yet all I find is hatred and cold hearted glances
I want to escape into a lover’s warm embrace
But even those arms are filled by another
Another whose name blinds me with hate

As my heart begins to slow and the world fades away
I think of the one who fills my heart and dreams
I see the face of the angel who fills my heart with love
I hear the warmth in his voice, see the love in his eyes
And my heart breaks to think that I will not be missed

For this sweet angel belongs to another
His heart and soul belong completely to her
And so here I lie, completely alone
Surrounded by the cold and the hate
Here I die
