I uncapped my pen and took a deep breath
Sometimes writing is easier than death.
I shut my eyes, fingers black with ink
Maybe sometimes I just don't know what to think.
I wrote a letter to you
Wishing you were really here
It hurts to think about you being gone
Because with you life was fair.
My heart wrote to you, not my mind
Listening to the birds and their kind.
My insecurities made me believe
No one wants someone like me.
I wish I had told you so many things
Near you my black heart wants to sing.
Too many times I've fallen
Too many times my heart's been broken.
The darkness controls me
Leaving me running in terror
Hopefully one day I'll be free
But I can't count on it here.
You were my sunshine on a stormy day
The sweet gentle breeze in my hair
You used to hug me and whisper 'come what may'
Though now I live in death without a care.
This love letter I write to you
Believing you're not dead
Believing someday we'll meet again
Even if not here on my dark bitter world.
Missing you, hoping the best for your life
I guess now I really am saying goodbye.
Please don't forget me completely
And I swear I'll never forget what you've done for me.
